National Geographic Young Explorers Grantee

With graduation just around the corner, I am becoming very antsy to walk across that stage and move my tassel from right to left. I just can’t contain my excitement as I embark on an expedition in my own backyard as a National Geographic Young Explorers Grantee.

As a grantee, I am conducting an oral history project about the New Orleans Ninth Ward at the beginning of the 20th century. Hence, the nifty new tab in the upper right hand corner marked 9th Ward Exploration, where you can find information about my project.  You also will see the subheads National Geographic Media and Share Your Story. These tabs allow you fast access to blog posts I write for National Geographic News Watch (or other NG Media) and information about how you can share your 9th Ward story.

I am so excited to embark on my post-graduate journey, and there’s no better place to start this adventure than National Geographic!

My graduation headshot, taken by Robert Giglio. Notice how I am representing LSU with the purple and gold? LSU has been an amazing time, but I am excited to move on.
