Quoted in The Atlantic Online

My recent Mardi Gras post for National Geographic News Watch did fairly well online, with thousands of “likes” and shares across social media. The piece looked at one of Louisiana’s little known Carnival traditions: Cajun Mardi Gras. Most notably, the article, “Mardi Gras from Louisiana’s Cajun Country,” was used as a source for The Atlantic online story “The Courir de Mardi Gras,” by Rebecca J. Rosen.  Rosen even used a direct quote from my News Watch story and cited my work.

I was excited to research this Carnival tradition and shed light on a venerable Louisiana observance.
